General
A. Furnish a portable floor system, the portable shall be constructed of panels when assembled provide a sports floor surface. Comprised of locking components, high strength laminated sleepers, plywood subfloor sheathing, tongue and groove assembly, Action Floor Systems northern hard maple flooring, and finishing including; sanding, striping, and coating. Facility personnel responsible for the assembly and disassembly of the portable floor shall be instructed in the proper procedures by qualified factory representative.
B. The typical portable floor size is 18.2m wide by 34.1m long or as selected by the owner for there facility needs 1.2m increments, width and 107cm length. Panels shall be portable and interlocking and provide for easy assembly and disassembly.

Quality Assurance
A. All system component parts must be supplied by Action Floor Systems, LLC.
B. Manufacturer shall be a MFMA Mill Member, an established firm experienced in the field and have been in business a minimum of ten (10) years; Action Floor Systems, LLC or an approved equal.
C. Manufacturer shall be solvent with no bankruptcy proceedings the previous seven (7) years.
D. The flooring contractor must be approved by Action Floor Systems, LLC.
E. Carbon Evaluation must be inclusive and based on all corporate facilities; offices and mills.
F. The manufacturer and flooring shall be independently verified by the guidelines of the
ISO 14064-1:2006 World Resource Institutes Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Scope 1, 2 and 3.
G. The manufacturer and flooring shall be independently verified by the guidelines of the
ISO 14040:2006 and ISO 14044:2006 Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), confirming a negative carbon footprint.
H. The manufacturer and flooring shall be registered in the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) Product Database.
I. Flooring system shall be independently verified to meet or exceed the SCORES criteria for environmental design and athletic performance: Sustainable Construction of Renewable Engineered Surfaces.
Submittals
A. Specification, Actions’ NitroPanel specification sheets.
B. Sample, one system sample (if requested by the architect).
C. Maintenance Data, assembly, disassembly, storage, and care documents.
Delivery and Storage
A. The portable floor system shall be stored indoors in a protected dry area with temperature and relative humidity conditions that approximate the conditions of the assembled area. The portable floor system shall be protected at all times from contact with moisture and excessive relative humidity.
B. Permanent heating and ventilation shall be installed and operating, a moderate room temperature shall be maintained prior, during, and after delivery and/or installation.
Warranty
A. Action Floor Systems, LLC warrants the floor system furnished will be free of material and manufacturing defects for a period of one year. The exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be the replacement or repair of defective material supplied by Action Floor Systems, LLC. All implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for intended use are limited and subject to the period of this warranty. This warranty excludes consequential damages.
B. This warranty does not cover damage by fire, winds, floods, chemicals, or other abuse, negligence, or failure of other contractors to adhere to requirements and specifications, or neglect of reasonable precaution to provide adequate ventilation during storage or when assembled. This warranty excludes damage due to excessive dryness, excessive humidity, spillage, moisture migration through walls, slabs, insulated subfloor systems, or any other source, ordinary wear and tear, faulty building construction, separation of the concrete slab, settlement to the building walls, faulty assemble, disassembly, storage, and care of the floor system.
PRODUCTS
Materials
A. Flooring
1. 20mm x 57mm Second and Better Grade LL, ERT, Northern Hard Maple TGEM, MFMA grade marked and stamped as manufactured by Action Floor Systems, LLC, Mercer, WI, United States. Flooring to be laid parallel to the long dimension of the court.
2. Options (add or delete)
a. 20mm x 38mm Maple Flooring.
b. Grades: First Grade, Third Grade.
B. Floor System
1. Floor system shall consist of 233 full 1.2m x 2.13m panels and 14 half 1.2m x 107cm panels for a court size of 18.2m x 34.1m.
2. Option (add or delete) Finished court dimension can be modified in 1.2m x 107cm increments for width and length, overall court:x.
C. Subfloor
1. Subfloor shall be 12mm 4ply, exposure 1, rated plywood, OSB (oriented strand board) is not allowed for panel construction.
D. Sleepers
1. High strength laminated 35mm x 35mm sleepers, LSL or SPF sleepers are not allowed for panel construction.
E. Resilient Pads (add or delete)
1. ProAction Nitro natural rubber pads factory attached and spaced with Nitro pad guards, pads available; 11mm or 19mm pads.
F. Panel Attachments
1. Machine fasten maple flooring strips through the plywood subfloor into each high strength laminated sleeper.
2. Panels incorporate a continuous HDP tongue and groove assembly, tapered tongue and groove with adjacent panels providing integral alignment and to prevent vertical movement between panels.
3. NitroPanel inner panel connections shall not be visible when the floor system is assembled. Nitro pins shall be included for panel assembly of the floor system in the factory located holes of the overlapping steel assembly brackets.
G. Sanding and Finishing
1. Floor shall be sanded with coarse, medium, and fine paper to a smooth even and uniform surface free of drum stops, gouges, streaks, or shiners.
2. Vacuum or tack floor, removing all sanding dust leaving a clean surface.
3. Inspect the surface to insure it is acceptable for finishing.
4. Apply two coats of MFMA approved gymnasium floor seal.
5. Apply two coats of MFMA approve gymnasium floor finish.
6. Floor shall be buffed and cleaned between all coats. Gamelines shall be applied between the second seal coat and the first finish coat.
H. Gamelines and Markings
1. Paint shall be compatible with the floor finish.
2. Gameline colors, markings and, graphics shall be provide by the owner or architect to Action.
EXECUTION
Installation
A. Assembly
1. Area of installation shall be dry, clean, and read for installation. Subfloor shall have a tolerance of; +/- 3mm in 3m.
2. Installation is per rows of marked panels, beginning with row A, the first panel A1 is attached panel A2. Continue assembly of remain rows following the number panels sequence, securing the panels together with Nitro pins.
B. Disassembly
1. Disassemble in opposite order. Remove Nitro pins and swing each panel clear of following panel edges.
2. Stack full rows together in reverse sequence, with the Nitro panels stacked face to face with a protective sheet between faces.
C. Storage
1. The storage area should maintain a temperature of 16 to 27 degrees C, with a relative humidity of 35 to 50%. The storage room must be well ventilated and dry with a temperature and relative humidity approximating the installed conditions.
Notes
System drawings and details are to be supplied to the owner along with floor care and maintenance instructions. Storage carts are available, if required one cart is required for each portable flooring row.
