A low-cost, durable easy-to-maintain and attractive surface, Action RexCourt vinyl sheet flooring is a heavy-duty resilient flooring product that makes a good option for applications in elementary school gyms, performing arts venues, food courts, church halls and other multi-function facilities.
PART 1 - GENERAL
A. RexCourt flooring is multi-layered, with a nearly maintenance-free polyurethane top coating, a tough 100% vinyl wear layer, woven reinforced fiberglass inner layer for dimensional stability, and a closed-cell backing for comfort and shock resistance.
B. The multipurpose gymnasium sports flooring shall include the furnishing of materials and complete installation including laying, gluing, welding and application of gamelines.
1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. All system components must be supplied by Action Floor Systems, LLC.
B. The flooring contractor must be approved by Action Floor Systems, LLC.
C. The general contractor shall provide a level, steel troweled slab to a tolerance of + or - 1/8" (3mm) in a 10'0" (3m) radius and subject to the approval of the flooring contractor. Moisture barriers must be adequate for conditions. The concrete slab is to be depressed thickness of the flooring specified.
1.03 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Flooring contractor shall not deliver to job site until the work of the other trades have been completed.
B. All Action RexCourt materials rolls should be acclimated to the jobsite conditions for a minimum of 48 hours prior to beginning the installation. Store and secure all rolls in up- right position on a flat and dry surface.
1.04 WORKING CONDITIONS
A. The flooring shall not be installed until all masonry, plastering, tile, marble and terrazzo work is completed, and overhead mechanical trades and painters have finished in vinyl floor area. The building must be reasonably dry; all openings must be closed in; permanent lighting, heating and air conditioning installed and operating.
B. The concrete slab shall be dry, free of foreign materials, and turned over to the flooring contractor broom clean. Moderate room temperature between 65-85 degrees F(20-29 degrees C) shall be maintained a week preceding and throughout the duration of the work. Humidity conditions within the building shall approximate humidity conditions which will prevail when the building is occupied. Care should be taken to maintain humidity within the range of 35% to 50%.
C. The moisture content of the slab shall be verified to be less than 5 lbs. per 1,000 square feet in 24 hours prior to installation of flooring or per Action Floor System’s recommendations.
D. The installation area shall be closed to all traffic and activity for a period to be set by the flooring contractor.
E. Check for pH levels and correct if pH levels exceed 9
A. Action Floor Systems, LLC. warrants RexCourt and welding rods to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of 10 years and the flooring installer warrants the installation of the flooring to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year. The exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be the replacement of defective material supplied by Action Floor Systems, LLC. or correction of defective installation by the flooring installer. All implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for intended use are limited to the period of this warranty. This warranty excludes consequential damages.
B. This warranty does not cover damage caused by chemically reactive materials, carpet crocking, dye, mold, stains, spillages, burns, gouges, scratches, indentations, floods, accidents, abuse, use of any harsh scouring pads while buffing, failure of other contractors to adhere to specifications, or improper maintenance. Other exclusions of this warranty are: difference in color between products and samples of photographs, changes in shading, texture and gloss during use, indentations from improper loading including high heels, spiked shoes, rolling loads and furniture not using floor protectors. This warranty also excludes damage due to excessive moisture, alkali, or water pressure from the slab. This warranty also excludes damage to floors due to ordinary wear and tear, faulty construction or design of building, (other than the flooring installation), separation of concrete slab underlying the floor, or settlement of walls.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
A. Leveling compound as approved by Action Floor Systems, LLC to correct minor subfloor cracks, grooves, voids, depressions, or other deviations.

C. Standard colors: Grand Maple(SPF 2001), Indian Cherry(SPF 1452), Windsor(1822)
Optional colors are available.
D. Welding rod as supplied by Action Floor System. Color to blend with vinyl surface. All seams shall be welded to create a monolithic and impermeable surface.
E. Adhesive as approved by Action Floor Systems.
F. Gameline paint as approved by Action Floors Systems. Colors are to be selected from the approved chart.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
A. Inspect concrete slab for proper tolerance and dryness reporting any discrepancies in writing to the general contractor.
B. All work to put the concrete slab in acceptable condition shall be the responsibility of the general contractor.
C. Verify with the general contractor, that the concrete subfloor, on or below grade, is adequately waterproofed beneath the slab and along the perimeter with suitable, approved vaporproofing system. The vapor barrier must be placed in contact with the concrete slab and installed with strict accordance with the vapor barrier manufacturer’s instructions. It is the responsibility of the engineers to determine the extent of these needs.
D. Before beginning installation, verify that the subfloor is properly cured, clean and dry; usually sixty (60) days or more are necessary depending on water content and atmospheric conditions.
E. Verify with the general contractor, and by visual inspection that no curing compounds or sealers have been applied to the concrete without prior approval of Action Floor Systems, LLC.
3.02 PREPARATION OF SURFACE
A. Fill cracks, grooves, voids, and construction joints with leveling compound as approved by Action Floor Systems. High spots on the slab shall be corrected by grinding them down.
B. Sand the entire surface of the concrete slab.
C. Sweep the concrete slab so as to remove all dirt and dust. If a sweeping compound is to be used it must be a sweeping compound that does not contain oil or other items that may inhibit the adhesion.
D. A bond test should be conducted and passed
A. The installation area shall be closed off to all traffic and activity for a period to be set by the flooring installer.
B. Install Action RexCourt according to the written instructions provided by Action Floor Systems.
C. Install Action RexCourt to minimize cross seams. Heat weld all seams according to written instructions provided by Action Floor Systems.
D. Apply game line paint per manufactures instructions. Apply gamelines accurately using the current rules of association having jurisdiction. Lines shall be straight with sharp edges in colors selected from approved color chart.
3.04 BASE INSTALLATION
A. Affix base to wall with recommended adhesive or fasteners. Miter all corners carefully. Install transitions and appropriate threshold plates as required.
3.05 CLEAN UP
A. Clean up all unused materials and debris and remove from premises. Clean Action RexCourt in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
B. Protect all installed floors until the project is completed.
A. Upon completion of floor installation, the owners, attendants or individuals in charge and responsible for the upkeep of the building are to see that the care and maintenance instructions are followed. Failure to do so may void warranty.
