These 4 descriptions give an overview of the variety of responsibilities you will have as part of the cross-trained rotating team. It keeps each workday interesting as it builds your skills, which you can use throughout your career.

Grader
The Judge

You examine pieces of flooring (from 8” to 8’ in length) for unacceptable defects, and you grade each board. You’re helping maintain our reputation for quality!

Nester
The Mover/Shaker

You assemble flooring pieces (approximately 30-35) into bundles approximately 8’ long, 7” wide and 4” high that weigh about 50 pounds. You’re keeping things moving!

End-Matcher
The Eagle Eye

You scan boards for unacceptable grade characteristics, remove defects using a trim saw and feed flooring pieces into a machine correctly. Nothing gets past you!

Rough End
The Triple Play

You’re part of a three-job station: guide boards onto a lineal conveyor (surfacer feeder), monitor automatic lumber transfer and clear jams (scanner station) and monitor an automated feed system and flip boards (rip saw operator). You can do this!
